Bills to be issued for food purchase

The Indian Railways has issued headings to every one of its zones to affirm at least ten point of sale (POS) machines on every train under their jurisdiction in order that travelers are given bills for food items they buy.

In a letter issued today, the IRCTC said that in spite of it being necessary for the licensee to issue bills to travelers for food items through POS machines, the handheld electronic bill printing gadgets weren’t installed in trains and cases of price cheating were “continuously being received, resulting in bad publicity for the IRCTC”.
