How can I book and print e-ticket?
Indian Railways now allow booking of ticket online for the convenienceof the passengers. To book an e-ticket, follow the steps below.
Go to https://www.irctc.co.in/
Log in with your username & password.
Search for the trains by providing the ‘from station code’ and ‘to station code’, date & class of journey.
All the trains running between the chosen stations will be listed.
Select the train and check latest availabilityof seats according to class.
Provide the details and make payment
Print your Rail e-ticket.
The e-ticket will usually contains all the information you need to know about your boarding point, reservation point, time of departure and arrival time.

How can I cancel my train reservation ticket?
Tickets once reserved can be cancelled online, if a confirmed ticket is cancelled within 24 hours and upto 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, cancellation charges are usually applicable according to the railway norms.

To cancel an e-ticket:
Go to https://www.irctc.co.in/
Log in with your username & password.
Select Cancel Ticket
Enter your PNR and phone number used for booking
Select the passenger you wish to cancel
See the approximate refund after cancellation charges
Proceed for cancellation.

How to check refund status?
After the cancellation of the ticket the refund would usually be processed within 5-6 working days. To check the refund status follow the steps below.
Go to https://www.irctc.co.in/
Log in with your username & password.
Select refund status on cancelled ticket
The updated status of your refunds will be displayed on the screen.

How to check PNR status?
PNR status can be checked online also. PNR is assigned for every ticket. Once the waitlist movement happens, the status of PNR will change changes. Or you can check PNR status by sending a SMS as ‘PNR ‘ to 139

What are the Refund rules?
Unused tickets on which reservation has been made:

(a)If a ticket is presented for cancellation more than 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train cancellation charge shall be deducted at the flat rate of INR 70 for AC First Class/Executive Class, INR 60 for A.C. 2 Tier sleeper class/AC 3 Tier sleeper class/ First class/AC Chair Car, INR 40 for Sleeper class and INR 20 for Second class.
(b) If the ticket is presented for cancellation within 24 hours and up to four hours before the scheduled departure of the train, cancellation charges shall be 25% of the fare subject to the min. flat rate mentioned in clause.

Refund on lost/ misplaced tickets :
No refund is permissible against lost/misplaced tickets. However passenger will be allowed to travel on the reservation already made on confirmed one or RAC.If the loss of confirmed/RAC ticket is reported before the preparation of the reservation chart, duplicate ticket will be issued on the collection of the clerkage charge per passenger. If the loss of confirmed/RAC ticket is reported after the preparation of the reservation chart, duplicate ticket will be issued on the collection of the 50% of the fare. No duplicate ticket will be issued after the preparation of reservation chart in case of RAC ticket.
