What is TDR in IRCTC?

TDR (Ticket deposit receipt) is a process of claiming refund for the booked ticket from Indian Railways.

If you book a ticket and it got confirmed, but due to some reason if the Train got delayed by more than 3 hours and you wish to cancel your ticket you have to file TDR.

If you want to file a TDR you have to do it before the actual departure of the train for availing full refund and you shouldn’t travel in that train.

TDR is there for cancellations of confirmed tickets, due to other factors like train delays, but if the Train got cancelled you will get refund automatically.

TDR Full Form is ‘Ticket Deposit Receipt’ IRCTC to file TDR in IRCTC online.
